Method
- Steep the chai tea in the hot water for 5 to 7 minutes, then remove the tea bags or strain out the leaves.
- In a small saucepan or microwave-safe cup, whisk together 1/4 cup of the milk, the pumpkin puree, maple syrup or honey, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla extract until smooth. Warm gently if desired, but do not boil.
- Stir the pumpkin mixture into the brewed chai tea until fully combined. Let it cool slightly, then pour over a glass filled with ice.
- To make the cold foam, whisk or froth the heavy cream, remaining 1/4 cup milk, and powdered sugar until thick and foamy.
- Spoon the cold foam over the iced pumpkin chai tea and finish with a light sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice. Serve immediately.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, use a plant-based milk and a dairy-free cold foam creamer or coconut cream. Adjust the sweetener to taste and garnish with extra pumpkin pie spice if desired.
