2 ounces 100% agave tequila (Blanco or Reposado)
1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
½–1 ounce agave nectar (adjust to taste)
Ice cubes
Coarse sea salt or kosher salt (for rimming, optional)
Lime wedge (for garnish)
Splash of soda water (optional, for a fizzy twist)
Instructions
Prepare the Glass: If desired, rim your glass with salt. Rub a lime wedge around the rim, then dip it into a plate of coarse salt. Set aside.
Mix the Ingredients: In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, freshly squeezed lime juice, and agave nectar. Add ice to the shaker, filling it about ¾ full.
Shake Vigorously: Secure the lid and shake for 15–20 seconds to chill and blend the ingredients.
Strain and Serve: Strain the mixture into your prepared glass over fresh ice. Add a splash of soda water if desired.
