Donatos Pizza

A crispy, thin-crust pizza loaded with edge-to-edge toppings, inspired by Donatos Pizza. Perfectly baked with a golden crust and premium ingredients.

  • For the Dough:

    • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
    • ¾ cup warm water
    • 1 tbsp olive oil
    • 1 tsp sugar
    • ½ tsp salt
  • For the Sauce:

    • 1 cup tomato sauce
    • 1 tsp dried oregano
    • ½ tsp garlic powder
    • ½ tsp onion powder
    • ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
    • ½ tsp salt
  • For the Toppings:

    • 1 ½ cups shredded provolone cheese
    • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
    • 2030 slices of pepperoni (or preferred toppings)
    • ¼ tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough:

    • In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
    • Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
    • Cover and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Make the Sauce:

    • Mix all sauce ingredients in a bowl. Let it sit for at least 10 minutes to develop flavors.
  • Assemble the Pizza:

    • Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
    • Roll the dough into a super thin crust on a lightly floured surface.
    • Transfer to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
    • Spread a thin layer of sauce evenly over the crust.
    • Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly, ensuring edge-to-edge coverage.
    • Add pepperoni slices evenly across the pizza.
  • Bake the Pizza:

    • Place in the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the crust is golden and crispy.
    • Remove from oven, sprinkle with Italian seasoning, and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  • Slice & Serve:

    • Cut into squares for an authentic Donatos-style look. Enjoy hot!

  • For extra crispy crust, pre-bake the crust for 3 minutes before adding toppings.
  • Use a pizza stone for the best texture.
